[ Elf Sketch 33 - Idiot ]

I found Sevino’s abandoned floating head in my sketchbook from the seven deadly sins project and turned it into Lothar, who was not very pleased about that and made placing Sevino in with him a complete pain in the ass. It worked out in the end, not for Lothar but for Sevino XD There was a much bigger gap between them before I moved Sevino in closer so his arm could wrap across Lothar’s waist without him having monkey arms. It wasn’t until I was masking out the back of Lothar’s head that I noticed Sevino could’ve been whispering into his ear. I laughed much >3

I used about 10+ anatomical study sketches/clay/3D models on DA to build Sevino’s back and shoulder. The rest I just winged. I’m sure there’s a glaring obvious error in there somewhere. It’s times like this that I wish I took anatomical drawing, but my sanity thanks me for not having to memorize bones again.

OAS is good eatin’

Here’s the old color scheme that was way too dark but I liked the gloomy atmosphere.

Lust | Envy | Pride | Greed

Gluttony’s going to need another 2-3 weeks but the rest are done ^__^ I had to rush the clothing to get it in on time so I’m redoing everything but Kryito’s head and the background (which is quite sexy but isn’t in the screenshot). If I find the inspiration, I’ll finish up the series with Erebos (wrath) and Scryren (sloth), but right now, I need a break.

Elf Sketch #27 – Scry

This is the top half of my split page assignment for illustration. I’ll probably crop the right arm off at the shoulder since the foreshortening is all fubared.

Kryito in his half-Kumori, half-Oneiroi form. Under that sad excuse for a fishnet sweater is a leather shirt that zips all the way down. I also brought his choker back in but as a strap. I have too many characters with chokers.

I hadn’t planned on coloring this but I thought it would make for a good profile pic in his bio, and a chance to try out a new outlining method*. Somehow I ended up turning a head bust into half a figure ^^;;

*Since using the pen tool was taking too long, I tried something new this time. I printed out my sketch, traced over it on vellum with a micron pen, then live traced it to smooth out the lines… and then spent the next three hours touching that up. Might work nice for comics but I think I’ll stick with the pen tool for the larger stuff. Live trace makes the lines too thick.

Time: about 30 hours

I’ve been re-working the Oneiroi species and a whole bunch of other crap that’s having huge a impact on the story, for the better. I was making things too complicated to fit what I wanted to happen at certain parts in the story and realized it was one big cluster fuck of confusion, mainly because even I don’t understand the world I’m working in (ouch). You can suspend your disbelief for so long before you start freaking out. Damn half-breeds making things complicated.

I found an abandoned sketech of Lothar and turned it into Reis. I had no idea what he looked like, other than I knew he had black hair and hazel eyes. Probably the fastest one I’ve ever done (pencil to finished in 9 hours). I should’ve been coloring the Wasteland comic but it’s been bothering me that he’s an important character and I don’t know what he looks like X__X
